    Notes
    • *Note While I have yet to find conclusive proof that Doxy/Dory was the daughter of George Horner and Priscilla Winslow, I have included her as I believe the circumstantial evidence is pretty strong.

1 - George and Priscilla were the only family of Horners to move to Moore County from Orange County during the time period.

2 - We know from the 1820 Orange County Census, 1830/1840 Moore County Census that George and Priscilla had a couple of daughters around Doxy/Dory's age.

3 - Doxy/Dory and her husband George Williams named two of their children George and Priscilla.

I have been talking to some other members of our family. I have had 4 great grandchildren of Julia Williams give me the information that Doxy Horner is the correct name instead of Dory. Maybe this will help us find more information on her. Sarah
