      Bartholomew Dunn [age 86], Moore County, NC resident, applied for a pension in Montgomery County, NC. Dunn stated that he served under Captain William Dowd and was drafted at Shuffields, NC on Aug 14, 1814 and was discharged on Mar 15, 1815. At the time of enlistment, he was described as 22 years old, 5'6" tall, blue eyes, light hair and fair complexion. Alsey Maness age 53, Leachs Store Post Office and Martin Cagle age 53, Leachs Store Post Office, testified to having known Dunn for 45 years each and believed that the he served in the War of 1812.
