A small write-up for Ella from the Winthrop University Baptist Ministries Dept.

"She was truly a pastor's wife who was ever ready to help wherever she saw the need. It could be said that Proverbs 31 describes her. She had all the attributes the wise men extols in the virtuous woman. She gave loving care to home and family, but neglected not the work of the Lord. She was always ready to fill in for a teacher, a secretary, the organist or the choir leader. She organized the first children's choir in Lexington Baptist Church. It could be said music and children were her greatest interests. She also found time to visit church members and neighbors especially the sick, the needy and the bereaved; and she welcomed with her heart an open door to those who came to her home. Steadfast in faith and prayer she walked serenely and graciously as she served her Lord."
