Branson, Gidean Gilbert, Powell Benbow, Mary Hall, Elizabeth Chason, Easther Smith, John Jones, James Barns, Jacob Barns, Elesebeth Barns, James Russell, Elisha Hunter, Margret Hunter and Mary Russell were present and served as witnesses.

George Hendry, Powell Benbow, Abigail Pike, Sarah Barns, Rachell Mainer, Joell Sanders, Cornelius Tison, Gidean Gilbert, Jean Tison, James Barnes and Jacob Barns were present and served as witnesses.

Petition of inhabitants of Orange and Cumberland counties to divide the counties and create a new county beginning at the intersection of Johnston, Orange and Cumberland county line running north 18 miles then west 42 miles, thence south 34 miles thence east 42 miles and north to the beginning. Kennedy, Jeremiah Phillips, Lambert Reed, John Garner, Thomas Neddam, Enoch Spinks, John Larrance, John Needom, Thos. Kost, James Latham, Isom Melton, John Lawrence and Charles Golston. [Editor's Note: these were inhabitants of what would later become the counties of Moore, Chatham and Randolph – petition was rejected.]
